Germany’s oldest whiskey distillery. At the “Alte Probstei Erbendorf” production facility on the edge of the Steinwald—Bavaria’s smallest nature park—distilling is a labor of passion! Great-great-great-grandfather Johann Baptist Schraml began distilling in a basket still over 200 years ago. Since 1818, alcohol has been produced there from grains, fruits, herbs, and other raw materials. The process involves mashing, macerating, distilling, and blending—simply delightful craftsmanship!
